Love Is Not Blind: Living Undivided

Most of us have heard the phrase “love is blind.” It sounds romantic—but Scripture tells a different story.

Biblical love doesn’t ignore reality. It doesn’t ask us to turn off wisdom or pretend everything is fine. Instead, God’s kind of love helps us see clearly—ourselves, one another, and the way God is shaping our lives.

Jesus said the greatest commandment is to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind—and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Those two loves are meant to stay together. When they get separated, our lives feel pulled in too many directions. When they stay aligned, love becomes steady, honest, and life-giving.

An undivided life isn’t about being perfect or having everything figured out. It’s about having our loves in the right order. God first. Everything else shaped by that.

This matters because relationships—whether marriage, singleness, friendship, or family—are not meant to complete us. They are meant to form us. The Bible shows us people who lived faithful, meaningful lives in every season. Some were married. Some were single. All of them were deeply connected to God and to community.

Scripture reminds us that no one is meant to grow alone. Love is practiced in community—through shared meals, honest conversations, encouragement, and accountability. That’s where healing happens. That’s where faith becomes real.

If love isn’t blind, then we need people who help us see clearly. People who walk with us, pray with us, and remind us who we are when life gets messy.

A Question to Reflect On This Week:

Where might God be inviting you to live more undivided—more aligned with Him and more connected to others?

A Simple Prayer:

God, help me love wisely. Order my heart. Shape my relationships. And teach me how to live fully devoted to You, together with others. Amen.

If you’re longing for deeper connection, we invite you to join us for Bible Study this week. Whether you’re married or single, new to faith or rebuilding it, there is space for you here. Discipleship is a journey—and everyone has a next step.
